A 16 years old's hand dances with the pen
He sweeps her foot along the college ruled floor.
The dance is inspired by uninspired inspiration,
Inspiration is in the paddle of defibulators.
Hip hop is dead, kid, I'm sorry to tell you.
Santa Claus is a myth too, but people's parents still purchase pony tailed Barbie Dolls and Batman Helicopters because commercials tell them to.
Children watch commercials and they want what they see, since they hold legal tender synonymous with October Leaves, they don't know and they don't see parents bussing behinds in cold cubicles, constraint and restrained.
They see that and they don't know the struggle and pain,
That is because inspiration is in the teeth of the smile.
Smiles shine photosynthesized oxygen
into eyes of parents whose veins use this to pump blood
into hearts, creating summered spirits.
Love is painful as pleasure Is numbing.
People chase pleasure in exchange for freedom
Futile attempts to escape reality instead of pain.
"Gotta get the new Nintendo game,"
I use to hear myself say,
Even though the idea is old,
The concept is old,
But there is a new option to purchase prostitutes and
Pick kicks,
While kicking the shit out of pixilated lost black girls whom
The video game designers defined as a bitch.
Inspiration is in the nostalgia of childhood kid.
Now if you're fortunate enough to have at least have one parent who's willing to work full time
while you stay latch keyed at home,
you get the option to have this as a source of nostalgia,
otherwise you HAVE to play Live Grand Theft Chicago Project tenements
while lone grandparents and overweight/depressed aunties have to watch their love ones
fall victim to the pursuit of inspiration,
inspiration then falls into the hands of the criminal minded.
Now do you wanna know what KRS was when he first started rhymin'?
More along the lines of a C.E.N.T. 50 or a Rascal that's Dizzie.
You know what made him change his major from gangster shit to philosophy?
His brother got shot.
Bottom line is kid,
the only real inspiration is honest information,
And most rappers enter the game poor and careless
So they don't worry about the messages they give you.
Their promoters and soul'd mortgage brokers
Only benefit off of the compound interest of their ignorance.
You wanna see a difference, you want a difference to happen,
YOU BE THAT.
Now the next time your hand dances with the pen,
When you sweep her feet across the college ruled floor boards,
Make sure the child like words y'all create are inspired by truth and not
