Melissa Jordan

One day soon Melissa will be world famous for being the only woman to hang glide across the Atlantic while knitting a sweater, but she is currently a senior at Northside College Prep. Melissa writes with the Young Chicago Authors Saturday Scholars Writing Program as well as an editor and writer for Say What Magazine. Melissa's hot air is featured monthly in "The HoofBeat," Northside's student paper, for which she is an editorial columnist and writer. Other writings, such as "Opportunities Might Only Knock Once" have been published on sites such as ThisIBelieve.org, in association with NPR. Besides writing, Melissa enjoys playing the bagpipes with the City of Chicago Pipe Band (this is not a lie). She also enjoys thinking about how great the UK is, and getting in donnybrooks over football teams (that's soccer for you American chaps).
